Supports federal legislation related to promoting peace, justice, equality, sustainability, and good government.

About our committee:

Friends Committee on National Legislation encourages Friends to participate in supporting federal legislation promoting peace, justice, equality, sustainability, and good government. The Committee sponsors letter-writing tables at the meetinghouse.

It also coordinates Milwaukee Friends Meeting’s participation in providing input to FCNL’s legislative priority setting process. The committee serves as a liaison with the Milwaukee FCNL Advocacy Team which develops a consistent relationship with local members of Congress through regular lobbying visits.

Why members serve:

“Serving on the FCNL Committee gives us the opportunity to practice our Quaker Faith and Testimonies of peace, justice, equality, and sustainability that are vital to the issues facing our democracy.”
