Provides a place for Friends to express peace and justice concerns while using Quakerism as a guide.
About our committee:
The Peace & Justice Committee creates a place where people can express concerns related to peace and justice throughout the world. Using Quaker process, we use the following queries to guide us: How do we live with an open heart in the midst of so much suffering? What are we led to do? These reflections have led us to fund raise for humanitarian relief in Gaza and organize for racial justice and the rights of immigrants. Others participate in prison ministry and advocate for prison reforms.
Why members serve:
“Quakers have a long history of responding to the world’s suffering and injustice in a way that recognizes that of God in everyone. Serving on this committee, I am able to support the individual leadings of others, and also work with others to act on our shared concerns of social justice in our community and beyond.”
Committee Conveners:
